Materials: worksheet, flashcards/realia, imitation of bank notes
- Choose a number of students (depending on the size of the class) who will be owners of grocery shops. The rest will be their customers.
- Each customer has a list of ingredients to buy in order to prepare a specific meal; he/she also has the money to do the shopping.
- The customers arrive and shop according to their shopping lists. They ask: “How much is the…?” and write down the price on their shopping list.
- In the end the customers count how much they spent and the shop keepers how much they earned.
