THE WHEELS ON THE BUS (DVD)

Materials: DVD player
- First play the whole clip without pauses.
- Play it for the second time with pauses.
- Stop the DVD each time Steve asks: “What’s coming? Can you hear it? What is it?” and encourage the children to suggest some answers.
- Resume watching the clip to see if they were correct and help the children to sing with Steve and mime the different means of transport. You can either copy Steve as on the DVD or do your own mimes or actions.
- Make the last pause when Maggie is passing Steve and ask: “Who’s on the bike?”
- When the clip has ended and you have said “bye bye“ to Steve, ask the childern to recall all the different vehicles they can remember from the clip. Say: “What did we see?” in order to elicit the names of all the meand of transport the DVD clip contained.
- Watching the clip more times will help the children learn the song and consolidate the target vocabulary. If you would like to only use the song you can download The Wheels on the Bus from the portal at www.english-time.eu
