Subject: Humans and their world
Cross-curricular links: English language, Mathematics
Target language: boat, bus, car, helicopter, plane; big, small; numbers 1-5

- Distribute the worksheet to the students.
- Point at the boat on the first line and ask them: "What is it? Is it big or small? How many boats are there?”
- On their own, students then complete the following lines in their worksheets, i.e. total the numbers of individual types of means of transport and write the numbers into relevant boxes.
- With the teacher, students check their results. The teacher poses questions: “What is it? Is it big or small? How many…are there?”, and students reply.

To extend this activity, you may also tell the children what to draw, e.g. “Draw two small cars. Draw one big bus.” etc.
