PHYSICAL PREPOSITIONS
(Verbs and Prepositions of Place)

Target language: on/behind/in front of the bench, on the left, on the right
Time: 5-10 minutes
Materials: benches/chairs
- Split the class into two teams and race one against the other. Use the phrases from the DVD substituting the word bench for chair. For example “Sit on the bench. Stand behind the bench”.
- To add a more competitive element, give a count down from 5 to zero so that any child not in place by the time you reach zero is made to sit out the next round.
Note:
This game can be played in the gym or classroom with chairs (see DVD for teachers).
