MIME WHAT HAPPENS
(Verbs and Prepositions of Place)

Subject: Physical education
Cross-curricular links: English language, Drama, Reading lesson
Time: 5-10 minutes

  • Make up a short story (6 to 7 sentences) about something children can experience; you may also describe a thrilling situation.
  • Ask children to listen to you and mime what you say. First, mime with them.
  • Then describe the same situation one more time, letting the children to mime it on their own.

Examples:

A) You go for a walk. It is raining and you are cold. Suddenly you see a good friend. You are very happy and you wave to her.

B) One day you swim in the sea. There are big waves in the sea. Your mum calls you. You swim back to the beach. You play in the sand. You build a sand castle.
