Materials: worksheet
- Each student gets a worksheet, into which he/she will complete and extend various patterns (pictures and numbers): "Complete the patterns, please." First, show the students, with a sample on the blackboard, what they are to do.
- Examples:
- a) practising colours – pattern: red, yellow, yellow, blue (how will the pattern continue?) - red, yellow, yellow, blue, etc.)
- b) practising family members – pattern: brother, sister, father, mother (how will the pattern continue? - brother, sister, father, mother).
- c) practising numbers - 1, 3, 3, 5, 2, 2 (how will the pattern continue? - 1,3,3,5,2,2)
- d) practising geometrical shapes - ¦ ^ ^ ¦ ? (how will the pattern continue? - ¦ ^ ^ ¦ ?)
- e) practising adjectives – pattern: short, tall, tall, tall, short (you may draw pictures of short and tall people; how will the pattern continue? - short, tall, tall, tall, short)
- f) practising fruit/vegetables - pattern: apple, apple, banana, orange (how will the pattern continue? - apple, apple, banana, orange)
- After completing a pattern, read it in chorus.
