CLASSROOM SURVEY

Time: 10 minutes
Materials: tabule, křída/fix
- Ask students to dictate numbers to you from, for example, 1 to 5: "Please count form 1 to 5.” Write the numbers on the blackboard.
- Tell your students to look around the classroom for things that only appear once: "Look around the classroom. What is there only one of in the classroom?" Children call out, e.g.: “One teacher.” or using a whole sentence (depending on whether you wish to practise the structure there is/are) “There is one teacher in the classroom."
- Ask them more questions: "What are there two/three etc. of in the classroom?” Children answer back: “Two doors. Three windows./There are two doors in the classroom/three windows in the classroom.”
Note:
The activity is adaptable to practise any vocabulary. Place flashcards or realia around the classroom.
