WHACK-A-DAY
(Time and Seasons of the Year)

• Put the picture cards of seasons and the sheets of paper with days of the week on the board.
• Set two chairs in front of the board.
• Divide the pupils into two teams.
• Each team chooses a pupil to sit on a chair with their backs to the board.
• Both children hold a stick or rolled up newspaper in their hands.
• Call out one of the pictures on the board. Both pupils must stand up, find the relevant picture/word and hit it with their stick. A point is awarded to whoever hits the picture first.
• If neither pupil can find the right picture/word, encourage the other children to shout out to help (they could name the colour the word is written on).
• Continue until all the pupils have had at least one turn.
