WHO’S THE THIEF?
(Clothes)

Subject: Humans and their world
Cross-curricular links: English language
Target language: dress, gloves, hat, jacket, pyjamas, scarf, trousers, shoes
Time: 10-15 minutes
Materials: flashcards

  • Students sit in a circle in the centre of which there are cards with pictures of various items of clothes. The teacher moves around the outside of the circle. Give students time to look at all the pictures and remember them.
  • Children then cover their eyes; the teacher walks around them on the outside of the circle. He/she taps a student on his/her shoulder at random. He/she picks one of the cards and hides it.
  • Students then open their eyes; the teacher asks: “What’s missing?” Students answer and the teacher continues asking: “Who’s the thief?” We are now looking for the thief.

Note:

The activity can be adapted to practise any vocabulary.
