(Body)
Subject: Physical education
Cross-curricular links: English language
Time: 5-10 minutes
Materials: none, possibly CD with music
- Ask children to stand up. They need enough room to be able to stretch out their arms.
- Describe and demonstrate the movements they are to do. Encourage children to follow you: Squat and push your chin against your knees, and slowly get up. First your bottom, then gradually straighten up, raise your hands, stand on your tiptoes and stretch out as far as you can. You may count to ten (with 1, start getting up; with 10, you are fully stretched).
- Eventually, you may mime the movement of a tree in a wind (moving from side to side, waving your arms).
