• Watch the DVD and encourage the children to copy Steve miming each job.
• Watch again and pause before each new dream sequence is about to start and ask what Steve wants to be. Ask: “What does Steve want to be?” and elicit suggestions from the children.
• Resume the DVD to see if any of the children were correct, and pause again when there is a clear image of Steve on the screen dressed in a uniform with his hat on.
• Say to the children: “Steve wants to be a (chef) and look he is a (chef.) Is he happy?” demonstrating a happy face by smiling and pointing to your mouth to elicit a “Yes” from the children.
• Resume the clip until things start going wrong and Steve looks unhappy and then pause. Ask the children again if Steve is happy to elicit a “No” this time and say: “No, Steve doesn’t want to be a (chef) anymore” while shaking your head.
• Repeat for all the dream sequences in the clip, before saying “goodbye” to Steve at the end.
