• Prepare an enlarged copy of the handout.
• The children sit in the circle and in the middle there is the handout.
• Place a stone on START. Then the children throw the dice and say the number every time. Move the stone according to the number you get on the dice.
• If you get to the bottom of a ladder, move your stone to the top of the ladder. If you get to a snake’s head, move your stone to its tail.
• On their journey, the players have to say a job or calculate a sum. If they do not fulfil a task, they must skip a turn.

Variation:

The children play in groups.

Note:

The activity can be adapted to practise any vocabulary.
